A comprehensive tutorial on how to complete staking on parts for a watch balance staff repair.
I go through the use of a sticking set for this process as well as the use of the old balanced staff to determine which stakes would be appropriate for the various phases of staking on the parts. I also discussed the use of the Bergeon 3007 tool for compressing the hairspring collet. As well I talk about the use of liquid shellac for firming up the impulse jewel.
