Most projects never scrape anything β so why a whole lecture on web scraping? Because nothing teaches you how the web actually works faster. To scrape a page, you have to catch it doing everything your browser normally hides: where the data really lives, how pagination works underneath the buttons, what status codes mean when they happen to you, and what tools like Playwright, Puppeteer and Selenium actually do.
In this session of the FlyRank backend internship track, we take web pages apart: the four places data can live, the DevTools Network panel trick that reveals a page's hidden API, the three-question triage that saves you from launching a browser you don't need, and the pipeline that separates a script from a system β fetch, extract, normalize, validate, store, report. Is scraping legal? Where the grey area really is, and the security lesson hiding inside it for anyone who builds their own backend.
Everything is demonstrated on public practice sandboxes built to be scraped β free, no signup, no credit card. The paired assignment is on the portal, where every step from this lecture becomes a stage you build yourself.
