How to set up legal pages on Shopify for EU GDPR compliance, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and cookie consent banner tutorial.
I'm building a real Shopify print-on-demand store from scratch, and today I'm setting up all the required legal pages. If you're selling online in 2025, these aren't optional—especially if you're selling to EU customers under GDPR.
In this tutorial, I walk through how to create a Privacy Policy using Shopify's built-in templates and customize it for GDPR compliance, including customer data usage and third-party processors like Shopify Payments and Gelato.
I show how to set up Terms of Service to protect your store and define how customers can use your site.
I explain how to write a Refund and Return Policy specifically for print-on-demand stores, where personalized products can't be returned unless defective.
I create a Shipping Policy with clear delivery times and costs so customers know what to expect.
I install a free cookie consent banner from the Shopify App Store to comply with EU cookie laws.
I link all legal pages in the footer so they're accessible from every page on the site.
The store is called First Pages—personalizable photobooks for babies and toddlers. Familiar faces they can hold, flip through, and grow up with.
