Types of Google Ads Audiences:
Demographics - You can start your targeting by simply targeting people based on their age, gender, household income, and parental status.
Detailed Demographics - With detailed demographics, you have some more options when it comes to targeting. You can target the following detailed demographics audiences through Google Ads: Parents of Infants (0-1 years), Parents of Toddlers (1-3 years), Parents of Preschoolers (4-5 years), Parents of Grade-Schoolers (6-12 years), Parents of Teens (13-17 years), Single, In a Relationship, Married, Current College Students, High School Graduate, Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Degree, Homeowners, and Renters.
Affinity Audiences - Affinity audiences will represent broader groups of people who generally have an interest in something. For example, you can reach people who are avid investors, people who have an interest in DIY, and people who generally visit fast food restaurants. They are useful for branding and product consideration campaigns when you are trying to drive more awareness to your business.
Custom Affinity Audiences - If you can't find the right Affinity Audience for your business, you can create custom affinity audiences that use information such as the websites people visit, search terms people would be more likely to use, apps people use, and more to create broad interest groups that you can target in your campaigns.
Life Events Audiences - The major categories you can target for life events include Business Creation, College Graduation, Home Renovation, Job Change, Marriage, Moving, New Pet, Purchasing a Home, and Retirement. There are subsets of these audiences as well that you can target.
In-market Audiences - In-Market Audiences represent people who are currently in the market to buy something. You can target people who are actively looking for a new SUV, people who are actively looking for golf equipment, people who are actively looking to travel, and more. They are very targeted audiences that can be used to reach people when they are in the process of buying products or services.
Custom intent Audiences - If you have trouble finding the right In-Market audience, Custom Intent audiences can be another option. You can reach people who are looking to purchase a specific product or service based on the Google Search Terms they would be most likely to use.
Customer Match Audiences - If you have an email list, you can upload it through Google Ads Audience Manager and create Customer Match audiences, which uses Google data to match people who are searching your keywords or watching videos on YouTube.
Remarketing - You can reach people who have visited your website with retargeting ads. You have the option of targeting all users, smart lists, people who have visited specific pages, and more.
Similar Audiences - Similar audiences are automatically created by Google Ads based on your Remarketing Audiences. You can reach people who are very similar to people who have already visited your website, which will help expand your targeting to a new group of users.
