Google Ads with a $20 per day budget can work, but only for certain businesses. This tutorial shows you how to check your cost per click before you spend anything, how to tell when a small budget is realistic, and then a full search campaign setup on $20 a day. It comes from a podcast question about whether $20 per day is enough to run Google Ads at all.
Start in the Google Keyword Planner before you touch a campaign. For tree removal in Orlando, the low bids are $10 to $15 and the high end runs $30 to $40. At $20 a day that is two clicks, so 60 to 75 clicks a month, which is a lead every few days at best. What you want is 10 to 20 clicks a day, so 300 to 600 clicks a month and enough data to optimize.
Some keywords are out of reach. Accident lawyer near me in Orlando has a low bid over $200. A nail salon is the opposite, with nail salon near me, pedicure near me, and manicure near me around $2 at the high range. That is 10 clicks a day on $20, a real campaign.
For the setup I use a search campaign focused on leads with phone call conversion tracking. I would rather use conversion based bidding, but on a new account with no conversion history it may not run, so start with clicks and set a max cost per click bid limit. I set mine at $4 even though bids showed $2, because your quality score is still being calculated at launch.
Do not target the whole DMA region. Enter your address and set a 5 mile radius, or even 3 to 4 miles. Turn off search partners and the display network.
Keep your keyword list small. Five keywords with real intent reach most of what people search. Use exact match in brackets to start and avoid broad match on a small budget. Broad match is built for accounts that can take some bad with the good.
I cover your ad assets, and Performance Max, which I would avoid unless you have run it before. I show one of my campaigns that spent $638 and returned $798. For a service like Google Ads consulting, $20 a day does not work. That needs $100 to $200 a day, and the fix is niching down. Google Ads for medical practices converts better than best web designers near me.
The takeaway for $5, $10, or $20 a day is simple. Find the highest impact keywords, keep the list tight, run a search campaign, start with exact match, and watch your search terms report closely.
