Account Creation
Go to ads.google.com and click “Start Now”. On the following screen, you will be given three quick setup default campaign types to choose from. Rather than choosing one of the three defaults options, you will want to click on the blue text at the bottom of the screen that says, “Switch to Expert Mode”. We will walk you through setting up your campaign through expert mode because this is the best option, giving you granular control over all settings and targeting options.
Campaign Options
At this point, you will be given more options to choose your ppc campaign goal more specifically. In this tutorial, we will choose leads as our goal type. After choosing our goal, we will then choose search as our campaign type. We will then click on website visits and phone calls from the following options.
On the next screen, we will uncheck the default added networks, search network and the display network.
Location Options
For the location options and setting, we will change some of the default choices as well as add and exclude our locations through the “Advanced Search” area. This will allow us to save ad spend from clicks outside of our target locations as well as have more control over our target locations.
Keyword Match Types
We will give you an overview of the four different keyword match types: broad match, modified broad match, phrase match and exact match.
Keyword Research
We will give you some good tips on how to do proper keyword research by using the help of platforms such as Ubersuggest, a platform by Neil Patel. Also, we will briefly touch on using Spyfu to help assist in your search for keywords.
Negative Keywords

This step involves figuring out what someone would type in Google to find your product and try to find keywords related to it. You can do this with the Google Keyword Planner, a free tool that Google gives you. In order to get access to this, you need to create your first ad.
