What are onboarding screens and why are they obsolete in interface design?
OF COURSE there are exceptions (but quite rare) and the video that I mentioned is in our case always included in the app bundle so no need to download it on a wireless connection - it's built in. There are also cases of feature specific onboarding that's not the main one in the app - in that case it all depends on the research we have whether it's necessary to introduce something that way or not - but in ALL CASES you need to design your product in a way that it needs minimal explaining to do - that's good design :)

🔮 More about the video:
Onboarding screens used to be more important when the UX of mobile apps was still fresh. I'm talking 2008-2010 era. But since then most people already know and understand what the apps do so onboarding screens are practically always skipped. In this video I'll tell you what to do instead to maximize retention and have happy users :)
