Which one does it faster?

Celtic Knots are a typical use case for Boolean operations. Illustrator can add its Live Paint feature which makes this task even more intuitive and more flexible (you can still change the design while it’s live.

Affinity Designer does have a Divide operation and this would be the easiest way to create the design, but unfortunately the Divide fails. At the end the pieces cannot be reconnected for some reason and the application has to be terminated.
