Supporting your Learners with Accessible Course Design
When teaching, you want to make sure that your course materials, documents, and assessments are accessible for all learners. This workshop will be twofold. First, we will discuss issues of accessibility and how we can ensure that text documents, images, and videos are accessible in our courses. Second, we explore the key guiding principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), which provides flexible learning environments for all students, not just those with need for accommodations. We will then brainstorm ways to apply UDL best practices to our course materials, documents, and assessments.
